Marco Pereira is a Flute professor at the Conservatório de Música do Porto, where he also serves as Director. He has been building his identity as a teacher and performer, integrating distinct influences and training, seeking to synthesize the best that these can provide him, both on a human and artistic level. Considered, in the words of Helena Sá e Costa, a musician of «great enthusiasm and seriousness for music, great work and fair understanding», Marco Pereira nurtures a deep respect for the act of playing and teaching, values that he places at the center of his artistic and pedagogical activity.

He began his official studies at the Fundação Conservatório Regional de Gaia, continuing them at the Conservatório de Música do Porto. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Flute at ESMAE, where he also attended the Early Music Course – Traverso Flute. At the University of Aveiro, he completed his master's degrees in Performance and Music Teaching. He also completed a postgraduate degree in Flute at the Conservatori del Liceu, in Barcelona.

Their training allowed them to work with teachers such as Júlia Gallego, Christian Farroni, Magdalena Martínez, Olavo Barros, Eduardo Lucena, and Luís Meireles, among others. They also attended masterclasses led by Michel Bellavance, Jacques Zoon, Maxence Larrieu, Michel Debost, Félix Renggli, Michel Hassel, Patrick Gallois, Jean Ferrandis, Herbert Weissberg, Vicens Prats, István Matuz, among others.

He has dedicated a significant part of his life to teaching, in various parts of the country and abroad, both in specialized artistic education schools and as a mentor for advanced training courses, while simultaneously fostering numerous opportunities for the new generation of flutists through the various events he co-organizes as President of AFLAUP — Associação de Flautistas de Portugal.

He develops regular artistic activity, having been part of ensembles such as the Portuguese School of Music Orchestra, the Orquestra do Norte, the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, the Portuguese Symphonic Band, the Portuguese Guitar and Mandolin Orchestra, the Toy Ensemble, among others.

Chamber music also occupies a fundamental place in his artistic journey, with highlights including projects developed in a duo with pianist Lígia Madeira and guitarist Tiago Cassola, and he is also a founding member of the Quarteto Assai and Al Trio.
