Guitar Masterclass with Samrat Majumder
Guitarist Samrat Majumder gave a masterclass at our Conservatory, providing an inspiring experience to the students of the guitar class.
On April 24th, we had the privilege of hosting at our Conservatory the young Samrat Majumder, a classical guitarist of Scottish and Indian descent, recognized as one of the most promising voices of his generation. He is currently pursuing the prestigious Konzertexamen at the Robert Schumann Hochschule (Düsseldorf), under the guidance of Professor Alexander Ramirez. His academic background includes a Master's degree (MMus) from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, completed with cum laude distinction, and a Bachelor's degree (BMus) with First Class Honours from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). In 2025, Samrat joined the artist roster of Young Classical Artist Trust (YCAT), and is a classical guitar ambassador at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
In the afternoon, Samrat gave a classical guitar masterclass where students from the CML-FR classical guitar class were able to benefit from the generosity, knowledge, and mastery of the young Indo-Scottish guitarist. This moment provided a unique and inspiring artistic experience, allowing for closer contact with the young artist's sensitivity and interpretive excellence. Initiatives of this nature represent significant added value for the students' education and the professional enrichment of the teachers, promoting motivation, knowledge sharing, and contact with different artistic perspectives within the classical guitar universe.
A special thanks to Mr. George Burnett and Mrs. Daphne Burnett who allowed and supported this initiative.
