Conservatory hosts training for piano accompanists (but not only)
The Conservatório de Loulé hosted a training session for piano accompanists, led by the award-winning international pianist Anna Granik.
The Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado has reaffirmed its role as a benchmark in the artistic education landscape by conceiving and hosting a new accredited training initiative for teachers, with the support of the Centro de Formação do Litoral à Serra. This Short-Term Training Action (ACD), titled "The Art of the Accompanist Piano Teacher: Strategies and Challenges", was born from a proposal by our school to value a very specific and necessary area of the musical ecosystem.
This pioneering training was designed with not only accompanists in mind, but also teachers of melodic instruments who, due to the nature of their repertoire, depend on this close collaboration, and it was guided by the renowned pianist Anna Granik, whose international excellence was consecrated with the award for best accompanying pianist (in the Woodwinds category) at the prestigious XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition, in Moscow (2019).
These were deeply inspiring days in which, besides debating principles, strategies, daily challenges of accompaniment, and variations on practices between different countries, the teachers had the opportunity to work with their students under the watchful eye of Anna Granik and to incorporate the techniques and suggestions that make her a reference in this area.
With the success of this initiative, the Conservatório de Música de Loulé continues at the forefront of pedagogical training, equipping the teaching staff with new tools that will have a direct impact on the success and musical sensitivity of our students.
