The 2nd cycle String Orchestra (ages 10 to 12) of our school achieved a remarkable feat this Saturday, May 31, 2025, by winning 1st prize in the large groups category (Agrupaciones Musicales) at the "XIV CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE BANDAS SONORAS".
The event, now in its 14th edition, took place at the Municipal Theatre ‘Horacio Noguera’ in Isla Cristina, Spain, and was organized by the Conservatorio Elemental de Música ‘Vicente Sanchís Sanz’ of that locality. This competition has established itself as an important educational and cultural initiative, bringing together over 200 young musicians from conservatories in Andalusia and Portugal, with the aim of fostering coexistence and values through music. Additionally, this year's edition donated its proceeds to the Fundación Laberinto, which supports children with rare diseases and special educational needs.
The exemplary performance of our young musicians is the result of much dedication and effort, culminating in this well-deserved recognition. Congratulations are extended to Professor José Gomes for the excellent work developed and for the guidance that led to this success.
The participation and victory of our orchestra would not have been possible without the valuable support of various entities and individuals. A sincere thank you to Loulé City Council, which ensured transportation, to the contribution of the seamstresses, and to the loan of the "Indian" figure from the Carnival warehouse, which enriched the visual presentation. A special note of appreciation also to all the guardians who tirelessly accompanied and supported our students.
Bravo, boys and girls! This achievement is a source of immense pride for the entire school community and demonstrates the quality of the work developed in the musical area of our institution.
