Twenty-one students from the Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado are experiencing, throughout this week, a unique pedagogical and artistic experience. The students are engaged in intensive rehearsals with the Orquestra do Algarve, conducted by maestro Pablo Urbina, preparing to join the ranks of this professional ensemble in two concerts scheduled for December 19 and 21.
This initiative represents an important milestone in the academic journey of these young people, offering them the opportunity to work side-by-side with career musicians, understanding the dynamics, demands, and sound of a professional orchestra. More than a public performance, it is a moment of technical and artistic growth, the result of the hard work and dedication shown in classes.
A challenging and diverse repertoire
The concerts, which promise to celebrate classical music and the spirit of the season, feature a rich and varied program, ranging from the Romanticism of Chopin and Brahms to the magic of Tchaikovsky's ballets.
The foreseen alignment is the following:
I. Stravinsky: Suite No. 1 (1st movement)
F. Chopin: Nocturne op. 9 and Nocturne op. 27
J. Brahms: Symphony No. 2 (3rd movement)
R. Schumann: Symphony No. 1 (2nd movement) and Träumerei
P. I. Tchaikovsky: Suite from the ballet The Nutcracker
Nino Rota: Amarcord
Dates and Locations
The result of this collaboration can be appreciated at two distinct moments:
December 19 (Friday), at 9:00 PM: Parish Church of S. José de Ferreiras, in Albufeira.
December 21st (Sunday), at 5:00 PM: Grand Auditorium of the University of Algarve (Gambelas Campus), in Faro.
Invitation to the Community
The Conservatório de Música de Loulé invites the entire educational community — parents, guardians, teachers, and students — to attend these events. Public support is essential to appreciate the effort of these young musicians and to celebrate the excellent work that has been developed at the institution.
This will certainly be a memory that will be etched in the hearts of our students, constituting an enriching and unforgettable experience in their training journey.
