On a day of great symbolism for Loulé, integrated into the festivities of Mãe Soberana, the Conservatório de Música de Loulé – Francisco Rosado (CML-FR) and Clave de Sul – Associação Musical de Loulé (Clave de Sul – AML) celebrated, on May 1, 2025, a cooperation protocol that promises to revolutionize the region's musical landscape and help recover a historical tradition in the municipality.
A Strategic Partnership for Culture and Education
This protocol, signed by the Director of CML-FR, Sérgio Leite, and by the President of Clave de Sul – AML, Aurélia Maria Grosso Guerreiro Fernandes, establishes the foundations for an unprecedented cultural and formative collaboration. The main objective is to combine synergies and optimize resources to enrich music education in the Algarve, with a special focus on the promotion and dissemination of organ music.
The signing ceremony took place at a particularly significant moment, coinciding with other important milestones for the city's cultural and religious life: the signing of the contract for the construction of the future Symphonic Organ of the Igreja Matriz de Loulé, with Master organ builder Dinarte Machado, the celebration of a memorandum of understanding between the Paróquia de S. Clemente and Clave de Sul - AML, and the signing of the contract for the construction of stained glass windows for the Igreja Matriz, by visual artist, Miguel Cheta.
New Musical Horizons: Organ and Harp in the Algarve
What makes this partnership truly transformative is the prospect of introducing the teaching of instruments hitherto non-existent in the region's educational offerings, namely the organ and the harp. The two institutions will actively collaborate in conducting training activities, masterclasses with specialists, performance initiatives for students, among others.
Mutual Benefits and Regional Enrichment
Both institutions commit to:
- Develop and promote joint musical and cultural outreach actions.
- Collaborate in the organization of events and artistic initiatives.
- Share educational resources and mutually promote their activities.
- To offer unique learning and performance opportunities to students.
This cooperation will not only strengthen both institutions but will also contribute decisively to the cultural and educational development of Loulé and the entire Algarve, opening doors to new artistic languages and training future generations of musicians.
The Conservatório de Música de Loulé – Francisco Rosado is delighted with this promising partnership and anticipates a future full of music and new opportunities for its students and for the entire community.
