From Student to Teacher: Joana Fernandes Returns to the Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado

It is with great satisfaction that the Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado (CML-FR) announces the return of Joana Fernandes to our institution, this time not as a student, but as a trumpet teacher.

Joana Fernandes was part of the first generation of graduates from CML-FR, having completed Secondary Music Education in the articulated regime in 2020. Five years after her training at CML-FR, she now returns to join the teaching staff, marking a historic moment for our institution: she is the first former student to become a teacher at the Conservatory.

This return symbolizes the realization of one of the main objectives of our educational mission, as outlined in the Educational Project 2023-2026: "to provide students with a solid, well-founded, and rigorously structured technical, scientific, and artistic education, equipping them for the possibility of a professional future in the field of music." Professor Joana's journey is the materialization of this vision, demonstrating how specialized artistic education can open concrete professional paths for our students.

Although CML-FR is a young institution, with only seven complete academic years of existence, as stated in our Educational Project, it has already "met the high expectations of the community, namely students, parents and guardians, associations, and the municipality, through the growing artistic level and holistic development of students". The return of Joana Fernandes as a teacher is living proof of this statement.

As highlighted in our guiding principles, CML-FR is guided "by creating opportunities for students aimed at their artistic development, thus opening up the possibility of a career in this field." It is precisely this virtuous cycle that is now complete, with a former student returning to share her knowledge and experience with the new generations.

The Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado aims to "become a reference school in public Specialized Artistic Education at a national level, guided by the quality of teaching and artistic opportunities provided to the educational community." Having former students return as teachers is a clear indicator that we are on the right path to achieve this vision.

We warmly congratulate Professor Joana Fernandes on this important step in her professional career. Her exemplary journey - from student to teacher - represents not only a personal achievement but also a source of pride for the entire educational community of CML-FR. We hope that her example will inspire many other students to pursue their musical dreams and, who knows, to follow a similar path.

We thank all partners who have supported the Conservatory's work over the years, especially the Loulé City Council, the schools with which we maintain protocols, and all cultural and educational institutions that collaborate with us. Your support has been fundamental in consolidating our educational project and in providing our students with opportunities that, as in Joana's case, can transform into professional careers.

This milestone also represents an important contribution to the cultural and educational development of the Algarve region, reinforcing the role of CML-FR as an institution that trains not only musicians, but also future teachers who will be able to continue the mission of "fostering excellence in teaching quality, attentive to local dynamics and needs".

To Professor Joana Fernandes, we extend a warm welcome to this new phase of her relationship with the Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado. We are confident that her contribution will be valuable for the education of our students and for the continuous growth and affirmation of our school as a reference in specialized artistic music education.

This is just the beginning of a cycle that we hope to see repeated many more times in the future: the return of our students as teachers, contributing to "collective projects that bring together a strong and ambitious school culture".
