FITA - International Trumpet Festival of the Algarve 2025

The Algarve International Trumpet Festival (FITA) returned for its 7th edition on April 13, 14, and 15, 2025, once again in the cultural city of Loulé.

Organized by Casa da Cultura de Loulé, co-organized by Conservatório de Música de Loulé – Francisco Rosado and Cineteatro Louletano, and with Artistic Direction by João Mogo, FITA 2025 included activities for all brass instruments: Trumpet – French Horn – Trombone – Tuba, which included: masterclasses, workshops, concerts, conferences, debates, exhibitions, jam sessions, among others.

In this edition, FITA featured national and international artists with recognized and globally acclaimed careers. Among them were the Finnish KOLIZIO, in concert for the first time in Portugal at Cineteatro Louletano on April 13th, and the Brass Quintet 100 Caminhos, in concert at ASMN on April 14th.

The Masterclasses of FITA were taught by some of the members of the presented groups: Pasi Pirinen and João Moreira on trumpet, Valtteri Malmivirta and Hugo Assunção on trombone, Luís Viera on horn, and Sérgio Carolino on tuba.

There was also room for the biggest novelty of FITA 2025, the Brass Ensemble Reunion concert, which concluded the activities of FITA 2025, on April 15th at ASMN.

FITA 2025 proved to be a huge success, with a total of 86 participants, many of whom traveled to the city of Loulé specifically to enjoy this initiative. It also received high praise from the artists and participants present, as well as from the general public who attended the concerts open to the community. In short, it was three days of sharing, camaraderie, learning, companionship, and above all, good spirits!

Many thanks to all those who made the FITA 2025 possible, and many thanks to all the brass players, from all over the country, for your presence! Please continue to visit us in future editions; on our part, we hereby commit to continue providing lineups with artists of excellence, renown, and artistic-pedagogical relevance!

See you next year!

Trumpet Greetings!

João Mogo | Artistic Director FITA
