On June 19th, we welcomed trombonist and professor Ricardo Pereira to the Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado, for the first session of the Contemporary Music Workshop for Trombone.
This Workshop took place as part of the professor's doctoral research, which seeks to encourage contemporary music in basic trombone education in Portugal.
Professor Ricardo's recital was interactive, entertaining, and creative, and provided all participants with an enriching and educational experience.
A little more about this activity/initiative:
This project aims to explore the incorporation of contemporary music into trombone teaching, focusing on the perceptions and experiences of students and teachers in national public schools, as well as on the contribution of Portuguese composers.
The objective of this study is to better understand the attitudes, experiences, and needs of trombone students and teachers regarding contemporary music, through questionnaires and interviews and the implementation of practical workshops in various institutions. The project was carefully designed to ensure that all involved parties have an enriching and educational experience." Ricardo Pereira, Trombonist, PhD Candidate in Artistic Education.
We look forward to the second session of this project! Thank you, Professor Ricardo Pereira!
