The Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado held its traditional Saint Cecilia's Concert on November 18th. The event, held at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, marked the date dedicated to the patron saint of musicians and sacred music, a historical figure and symbol of musical devotion in the Western tradition.
The evening featured performances by various faculty ensembles, who interpreted an eclectic repertoire, ranging from the 18th century to contemporary music.
The program began with a performance by Rui Mourinho (Classical Guitar), who performed Saudade No. 3 by Roland Dyens. This was followed by the trio composed of António Hipólito (Harpsichord), Bruno Carneiro (Double Bass), and Inês Golega (Transverse Flute), with Sonata Op. 58 by François Devienne.
The concert continued with the performance of W.A. Mozart's Trio "Kegelstatt", by faculty members Marta Silva (Piano), José Gomes (Violin) and Caio Oshiro (Viola). The brass and percussion ensemble, formed by Joana Fernandes (Trumpet), Vitor Silva (Tuba) and Pedro Branco (Percussion), performed a set of duets by K. A. Hartmann, preceding the contemporary work Get It! by Gene Koshinski, performed by Tiago Martins (Bassoon) and Vasco Ramalho (Percussion).
The closing of the concert featured the participation of João Lourenço (Flute) and Ingrid Sotolarova (Piano), who performed the Sonata for Flute and Piano by O. Taktakishvilli and the celebrated Tico-Tico no Fubá by Zequinha de Abreu.
Tribute to Professor Ingrid Sotolarova
This final musical moment took on particular institutional importance. The Conservatório de Música de Loulé - Francisco Rosado took the opportunity to publicly acknowledge Professor Ingrid Sotolarova.
The teacher, who has been retired since October 1st, was honored with a glass trophy (gratitude and praise). The symbolic gesture aimed to recognize the dedication and work developed by the teacher over the last five years for the benefit of the school and its educational community.
