Accordion students awarded at the 27th National Trophy / 8th Alcobaça International Accordion Competition

The students Ian Leite (1st year, 6 years old) and Apolo Pereira (7th year, 12 years old) participated in the 27th National Trophy / 8th International Accordion Competition, in Alcobaça, on May 26th. Being a Competition with the particularity of branching out, simultaneously, into a National and an International aspect, after the musicians' performance, the jury assigns them a score (maximum of 25 points) which, for all intents and purposes, corresponds to the international classification, in which all competitors of the same category are included. In turn, using the same scores awarded in the international classification, only the Portuguese competitors are ranked. Thus, in this way, Portuguese students always receive two diplomas: one from the International Competition and one from the National Competition. The designation of 27th National Trophy / 8th International Accordion Competition is due to the fact that initially the Competition was only for national competitors, and only 8 years ago it became open to competitors from all over the world. The following minimum scores are required for candidates to be considered laureates: in the International Competition: between 22 and 25 points; in the National Competition: between 18 and 25 points.Accordingly:Student Ian Leite achieved 3rd place in Category A - Beginner 1 in the 8th International Competition and 3rd place in the 27th National Accordion Trophy with 24.00 points, among 11 competitors.Student Apolo Pereira achieved 1st place in Category C - Children 1 in the 8th International Competition and 1st place in the 27th National Accordion Trophy with 24.90 points, among 13 competitors. Many congratulations to the students and to Professor Vitor Mira! Keep up the good work!
