📍 Current Path
Currently, she is completing the 3rd year of the Portuguese Guitar course at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (ESART), in Castelo Branco, under the guidance of master Custódio Castelo. In 2023, she started a new artistic project together with a colleague from ESART, giving rise to the accordion, Portuguese guitar, and voice duo “MAR DUO”. This project is distinguished by the fusion of different musical cultures, crossing popular repertoires and creating its own artistic language. The duo made its debut at the “Salva a Terra – Ecofestival”, in Salvaterra do Extremo. In parallel, she is a member of the band “Somos os D’Alma”, a project that crosses popular music with Fado, bringing together Accordion, Portuguese Guitar and Voice (performed by herself), Viola Beiroa, Fado Guitar, Bass, and Percussion. She participated in the Amália Rodrigues Festival, in Fundão, as a representative of the New Talents of ESART, where she performed with musicians Tiago Oliveira and Mauro Resende. Throughout her career, she has been performing several concerts, highlighting her participation in the inauguration of the “Ah Amália” space, in Marvila, a “living experience” dedicated to the life of Amália Rodrigues, as well as her presence in all editions of the “Guitarra D’Alma” Festival over the last three years. In the pedagogical field, during the 2024/2025 academic year, she taught Portuguese Guitar at the Conservatório de Música Regional da Covilhã, guiding a class composed of 10 students, from the 5th to the 8th grade. Currently, she also teaches at the Orfeão de Leiria, where she is developing the teaching of Portuguese Guitar, contributing to the opening, for the first time, of the articulated regime in this area, with the integration of new students. In January 2026, she participated in the program “Em Casa de Amália”, on RTP1, in an episode dedicated to the Portuguese Guitar course at ESART, presented by José Gonçalez. In March 2026, she participated in the event “Notas Musicais no Feminino”, promoted by the Castelo Branco City Council, where she shared her academic and artistic journey linked to the Portuguese Guitar. On the occasion, she highlighted the female presence in this instrument traditionally associated with the male universe, as well as the importance of pedagogical support in encouraging new generations of performers. In May 2026, she participated in the television program “Conta Lá”, an audiovisual project dedicated to the regions and communities from north to south of the country. The report can be seen soon on the platforms where the program is present, namely on cable operators MEO, NOS, and Vodafone, as well as on YouTube. She is currently preparing the release of her first album, to be published by the label World Music Records of País Real, with production by Custódio Castelo and editing by Fernando Nunes, affirming her ambition to be the first woman to sing Fado and play the Portuguese Guitar, a project that represents her artistic identity and vision for the future.
My journey at the Conservatório was overall very positive and a landmark in my personal and professional development. I highlight the good conditions offered and the kindness and availability of the staff, who contributed to an always welcoming environment. Despite the challenges encountered along the way, this experience had a very significant impact on my training. In particular, the 12th grade and the completion of the Artistic Aptitude Test (PAA) were fundamental to my growth, playing a decisive role in my personal and professional development, with the essential support of my supervisor and co-supervisor, professor José Alegre and professor Luís Lopo, as well as all the teachers who accompanied me throughout the years.
